Need to become better at innovating?

Perhaps you:

  • Have a problem to solve or a goal that's proving difficult to achieve
  • Have a promising new idea and need it to be successful
  • Know that your organisation needs to build its innovation capability, but is unsure how

If any of these sound familiar, this course has been designed for you.

Innovate by following a process

Innovate for Impact is an online course that will train you in how to innovate with Adaptology’s 5‐Step Innovation Process.

The 5-Step Innovation Process

Step by Step

Each module of this course will take you through each step of this process.

You can choose to work on your own project as you progress through this course.

When you work in this way, you will build your innovation capability while also making progress on a real project that matters.

Why this course works

Most innovation training feels inspiring in the moment—but fails to create real impact.

This course was designed to overcome many of the problems with traditional innovation training.

1. Access the course when YOU need it

Most training happens long before people need it. By the time you have a real project to work on, the content has faded.

This course is built for your timing. You can jump straight to the modules and tools you need, exactly when you need them—so you’re applying the learning in the moment, not trying to recall it months later.

2. Your context first—not a framework

Most innovation courses start by showcasing their models. The focus is on their framework, not on your reality.

This course flips that. It starts with your context—your goals, your challenges, your opportunities. The framework is there, but only as a guide to help you make progress where it matters.

3. Relatable examples, local stories

Most innovation courses lean heavily on Silicon Valley success stories, like Amazon and Tesla.

While we may reference the occasional global example, this course prioritises Australian innovation stories—organisations working with constraints and contexts similar to yours. We know from feedback we've received over the years that local examples tend to feel more relatable and inspiring.

4. Optional add-on coaching support available

Most innovation courses focus on delivering content—not on helping you apply it to your real situation.

This course is different. You have options. You can work through the online modules at your own pace, and at any time, you can add personalised coaching directly with Linda Sands, the course creator. Coaching helps you deepen your learning, apply what you've learnt to your project, or—if you’re not working on a project right now—go deeper in understanding innovation.

About the Creator

Dr Linda Sands is an innovation coach and founder of Adaptology. She helps organisations become better at innovating.

Her background spans science, business, and art—a PhD in Biomedical Science, a decade in marketing, an Executive MBA, a Graduate Diploma in Psychology, and an active art practice. This mix shapes her approach: analytical rigour, insight into how people think and change, and a creative mindset that keeps problem‑solving practical and human.

She created this course after seeing how often people leave training inspired but unable to use what they’ve learned when they need to in the real world. This program closes that gap with practical, just‑in‑time support designed to be used in the moment — not forgotten in a binder.

Coaching packages are also available for individuals or teams who want deeper guidance.

Course access is assigned to an individual participant and isn’t transferable once allocated.

3) What does coaching include?

Coaching is available as a 6 × 1-hour package with Dr Linda Sands, designed to support you throughout your project. 4) Can I add coaching after I've started the course?

Yes. You can start with the online course and add coaching at any time during your 12-month access period. Coaching is available as either a 6-session package (best value) or as individual sessions at $280 per hour (ex GST), depending on your needs.

5) Do coaching sessions expire?

Yes. All coaching sessions—whether purchased as a package or individually—must be used within 12 months of payment being received, so it’s important to plan when you’d like to use them.

6) What does the course cover?

Each stage builds on the last, and you apply it directly to your own project as you go.

The course is delivered online on the Teachable platform, combining short lessons with practical tools and templates that you can apply to your own project. You can access it from any device, at any time.

8) How much time does it take?

9) What kind of project should I bring?

Any problem or goal that genuinely matters to your organisation — something important where the obvious approaches haven't worked, or a fresh way forward is needed. If you’re unsure whether your situation is a good fit, get in touch and we’ll help you decide. If you’d like help getting clear on the right problem before you begin, you can add one or two hours of coaching at the start. At $280 per hour (ex GST), it’s a simple way to begin with clarity and confidence.

10) What if I don't have a clear project yet?

That's okay. The course begins by helping you define and frame the right problem — so you don't need to arrive with everything figured out.

No. The course is designed to be practical and accessible, whether you're completely new to innovation or looking to refresh and sharpen your approach.

12) Can I do this as a team?

13) Is it relevant to my industry?

Yes. The innovation method taught in this course is applicable across sectors — it has been used in government, healthcare, professional services, education, and more. The approach is practical and adaptable, not industry-specific.

14) Will I receive a certificate?

Yes. A certificate of completion is issued by Adaptology once you finish the course.
